This round cup has beautiful Hakeme ("brush marks") and is made by Japanese potter Katsufumi Baba. Hakeme is a traditional decorating method. This involves applying a brush onto clay so that brush strokes remain, then applying glaze over them.

You can see the brush strokes on the cup's surface. The uneven handmade brush marks are a statement of Japanese aesthetics. These are an integral part of its natural, hand made appeal.

The rounded cup surface is a pleasure to hold in your hands. The cup is perfect for serving green tea - or even sake. There are two matt glazed teapots, with either a pewter or wood handle. Either one of the teapots can be combined with these cups to create a perfect Japanese tea set.

Katsufumi Baba creates ceramics that express Japanese aesthetics. His ceramics are designed for our modern way of life. With his skilful technique, these durable ceramics will be your favorite tableware for a long time.
